13th Celebrations

We have had a busy, but lovely, weekend celebrating our son's 13th birthday.  Can't believe I am the mum of a teenager now!!  One good thing though is that I have not noticed a change in his attitude yet and he still got up at his usual 7.00 this morning.......phew!!!  I really couldn't handle a moody teenager who lies in until lunchtime!!

Yesterday he went, with his dad, sister and 6 friends, to a laser shooting place for a few hours.  (I ducked out of this one and stayed at home preparing food!) Then they all came back to ours for activities like table tennis, table football, arcade games and a bit of x-boxing followed by lots of yummy food!
Then today we were at nan and grandads for food and games for the day.
All of this combined with lots of lovely presents have equalled a brilliant birthday for him!...............and a tiring one for us!

  7. Happy Birthday to your son.

Thanks for your message about the sofa. Yes it is an Ektorp one, I would say the cushions are good for keeping their shape. The only thing I would say is that the cushions are quite firm it isn't a squishy sofa but you can try it out in the shop to test. But this firmness does keep the shape good.
Now I've had mixed reactions to washing the covers a few times they have been great but then the last time they seemed a bit tight to get back on, I don't know what I did differently I can't think of anything! So we just bought some more as they are really cheap for the white ones.
The material is really hard wearing & thick & so when they washed they are quite hard to iron to get creases out but I don't think people really notice. I think the covers had just been washed on the photo on the blog as they seem a little creased if you look carefully!
I think for the price they are brilliant as they are so cheap & the white covers are soooo cheap too! I know some of the other different coloured covers are dry clean only & are a lot more expensive but I love white anyhoo so it's win win for me!
    Hope this helps.
P.S I've posted this over at my blog too incase anyone else has the same questions.

  8. Aaah, I hope your son had a really happy birthday. Thirteen is such a significant age, I think. Twelve seems little but thirteen is definitely moving towards being more grown-up. My eldest is ten and it'll feel so strange when he gets to that age.

  9. Happy Belated Birthday to your son!!!!! Mine is already showing teenage attitude which is all quite scary!
thanks for your comment on my blog. The dotty tablecoth is oilcloth from Dunelm and I then made a table runner out of fabric to go over the top which didn't take too long and fortunately it's washable!

  10. sounds like it was a great day .
In reply to your question you can order a cath kidston brocher on their web site and its free or you have to pay for one if you get it from the shop
